Why Supporting Models Matters to Me – and Why I Created the Knowledge Base
As a photographer in a dynamic and often challenging industry, I see it as my responsibility not only to create compelling images but also to support and inspire the people in front of my lens. The world of photography and modeling is full of possibilities – but it’s also full of obstacles and questions. Questions that, in the beginning, I could only answer through trial, error, and experience. There was no one to guide me, no one to offer a sense of direction. This experience shapes my current approach to working with models: I want to provide guidance where I can, and this goes beyond capturing an image. That’s why I established the Knowledge Base on my website – a place where valuable insights are accessible, where models might find direction, or perhaps see new paths open up. It’s a space for sharing what I’ve learned, things that often don’t make it into a typical photographer-model relationship. One thing I often see in models is this raw, unpolished potential waiting to be uncovered. Showing a model how to find and use their own strength is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work. My goal is to help them find the confidence they need to present themselves authentically, both in front of the camera and in life. Because ultimately, it’s that authenticity that resonates, that connects, and that shines through in the most impactful moments of a photoshoot.
The Knowledge Base, therefore, is more than just an information resource. It’s my attempt to create a space that helps models navigate the often opaque world of modeling. I want to show that there are multiple paths, that careers rarely follow a straight line, and that detours often lead to the richest experiences. The Knowledge Base is there for models to explore, to gain inspiration, and to start shaping their own vision. My hope is that this section of my website becomes a small support, a hand extended to guide them, just as I once wished I had. Models deserve to see their versatility, their possibilities. If I can help make their journey a bit clearer, bolder, or more authentic, then it’s more than fulfilling for me – it’s my responsibility as a photographer.
