A Dream Come True: My Books in the Swiss National Library
There are moments in life when you pause, take a breath, and realize something meaningful has quietly come true. For me, that moment is now – my books are officially part of the Swiss National Library in Bern.
When I held my first publication in my hands, it already felt like a milestone. But to know that my work is now preserved in the national archive – a place dedicated to culture, knowledge, and memory – is something else entirely. It’s more than just a catalog entry. It’s a quiet confirmation that the images I create, the emotions I capture, and the people I portray have found a lasting place beyond the ever-changing digital world.
Each book I’ve published is a personal journey – through light and shadow, through trust and vulnerability, through the eyes of those who chose to open up in front of my lens. They aren’t just photo books. They’re conversations. They ask for presence, for emotion, and sometimes for courage – both from me and from the viewer.
To now have these pieces of my life, my thoughts, and my art included in the Swiss National Library is deeply humbling. It’s not just an honor – it’s a dream fulfilled. A dream that began quietly, with a camera, a vision, and a desire to capture something real.
I want to thank everyone who’s been part of this journey – the muses, collaborators, readers, friends. Without your trust and energy, these books wouldn’t exist.
And for those who haven’t discovered my publications yet: they are not typical coffee table books. They are intimate, honest, and timeless. If you take the time to engage with them, you may feel something – something raw, silent, and true.
This isn’t the end of a chapter – it’s an encouragement to keep going, keep creating, keep telling stories. In images. In pages. In truth.
With all my heart –
Christoph Marti
